AppMaven Studio (“AppMaven”, “we”, “us”) provides WoodShop Toolkit. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the Android app, its optional purchases and our support, and how you can control or delete it. AppMaven is responsible for the app; Google acts as an independent provider for the advertising, consent and purchase services described below.
- Your projects, tallies, cut lists, calculations and settings are stored on your device. There is no WoodShop account and no AppMaven cloud sync.
- AppMaven adds no analytics or crash-reporting service. Calculations, cut optimization and PDF creation run on your device.
- The free version shows Google AdMob ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects device identifiers, IP address, app interactions and diagnostics for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention.
- Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), Google’s consent form asks for your choice first; you can change it later in Settings → Privacy options.
- Google Play processes purchases. We never see your payment card details.
- You can delete everything stored in the app from Settings → Data → Delete all data — see retention and deletion.
1. Content stored on your device
WoodShop Toolkit stores the following in local app storage on your device: saved projects and the current draft; board-foot tallies with prices and species; cut lists (materials, parts, stock and settings) and the calculated cutting layouts; custom wood species; fraction calculator history; spacing inputs; restore points you create; your daily PDF allowance; purchase entitlement status; and app settings such as theme, units and rounding.
We do not operate a WoodShop server that receives this content. The app does not ask you to create an account and does not synchronize projects to an AppMaven cloud service. Your project names, dimensions, prices and notes are not sent to the advertising or purchase services.
Android backup and device transfer. WoodShop Toolkit opts out of Android’s automatic cloud backup, so its data is not copied to your Google Drive device backup. When you move to a new phone using a direct device-to-device transfer (cable or local Wi‑Fi), Android may copy the app’s data to the new phone; that transfer does not go through AppMaven. To keep your own copy, create a backup file in the app (section 2).
2. Files you choose to export, print, share or import
When you export a PDF, a CSV file, a project file or a backup ZIP, the app prepares the file on your device. Backup files are not encrypted. If you print, share or save a file using Android’s print service, another app or a storage provider, that service receives the file you choose and its own terms and privacy practices apply. When you import a CSV, project or backup file, the app reads only the file you select. Copies saved outside the app are not removed when you delete data inside WoodShop Toolkit.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob using the Google Mobile Ads SDK: native ads inside some screens, at most one full-screen ad per session after a PDF is exported or when you leave a cutting result, and an optional rewarded ad you can choose to watch to unlock an extra PDF export.
Google states that the SDK automatically collects and shares the following for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention:

Google states this data is encrypted in transit using TLS. The Android system may also let the SDK use Android’s privacy-preserving advertising APIs (for example ad topics and attribution), which you can manage in your Android privacy settings.
Consent. The app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). When required in your region, a consent form is shown before ads are requested, and your choice is stored on your device and with Google. If a privacy-options entry is required for you, Settings → Privacy options lets you review or change your choice at any time. Declining personalized ads means Google may still show non-personalized ads, which also involves some processing (for example for fraud prevention and frequency capping).
Advertising ID. You can reset or delete your Android advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on your device). Buying Remove Ads or Pro stops ad requests in the app; it does not delete records already held by Google.

4. Optional purchases and ratings
Google Play processes the one-time purchases Remove Ads and Pro. WoodShop Toolkit receives the result of a purchase or restoration from Google Play — product identifier, transaction status and purchase token — acknowledges the purchase with Google Play and stores your entitlement on your device so the app can unlock what you bought. The app may check your existing purchases with Google Play when it starts or when you tap Restore purchases. We do not ask for or store your payment card number; Google handles payment information and transaction records under its own policies. Deleting app data does not cancel a purchase or delete your Google Play purchase history, and purchases are never restored from a backup file.
After you save a project, the app may occasionally show Google Play’s in-app review prompt, and Settings has a link to rate the app. Google runs the review flow; AppMaven receives your published review only as it appears on Google Play.
5. Android permissions
- Internet and network state — to load ads and the consent form, and to talk to Google Play for purchases and reviews. Calculations do not need a connection.
- Advertising ID and ad-services permissions — added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to read the advertising ID and use Android’s advertising APIs, as described in section 3.
- Google Play billing — to make and restore in-app purchases.
- Vibrate — for short haptic feedback, which you can turn off in the app settings.
- Foreground service and wake lock — declared by Google’s libraries for short background tasks such as delivering ad and purchase requests.
WoodShop Toolkit does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photo library. Files are opened only through Android’s file picker when you choose one.
6. Support and external links
If you email AppMaven Studio, we receive your email address, your message and any files you choose to attach, and use them only to answer your request and investigate the issue you report. Please do not send payment card details or unrelated personal information. Opening a website, Google Play, an email app or a sharing destination takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices.
7. How and why we use information (legal bases)
- Providing the app and purchased features (performance of a contract): local storage of your projects, purchase verification and restoring entitlements.
- Personalized advertising (consent, where required): through Google AdMob and UMP.
- Non-personalized advertising, security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests): keeping a free version available and protecting advertisers and users.
- Answering support requests (legitimate interests, or steps you ask us to take).
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA), the use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads may be considered “sharing”. You can opt out by declining personalized ads in the consent form or in Settings → Privacy options where available, and by deleting or resetting your advertising ID in Android settings.
8. Retention and deletion
Local content stays on your device until you delete it, replace it by restoring a backup, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. Exported files remain wherever you saved them. Support emails are kept in our mailbox while needed to handle your request; ask us to delete correspondence associated with you. Google controls retention of information processed by its advertising, consent and payment services under its own policies.
- Delete a project: open the project and tap Delete project, then confirm.
- Delete all data in the app: open Settings → Data → Delete all data. This removes saved projects and the current draft, tallies and cut lists, custom wood species, calculation history, settings, restore points and exported-file caches. Purchases stay with your Google account and can be restored.
- Remove everything else the app keeps: clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall WoodShop Toolkit.
- Remove exported copies: delete PDFs, CSV files, project files or backups from the folders, apps or cloud services where you saved them.
- Advertising data: use the Android and Google privacy controls in section 3. Deleting data in WoodShop Toolkit cannot delete Google’s advertising, consent or transaction records.

9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of personal information, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because your projects stay on your device, you can view, export and delete them directly in the app. For information held by Google, use Google’s privacy tools. For anything you believe AppMaven holds, email us; you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. International transfers and security
Google may process advertising, consent and purchase information in countries other than your own, including outside Vietnam and the EEA, relying on its own safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. No storage or transmission method is completely secure; please protect your device and any backup files you export.
11. Children
WoodShop Toolkit is a woodworking tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children, does not take part in Google Play’s Designed for Families program and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when WoodShop Toolkit’s features or data practices change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and significant changes may also be noted in the app or on Google Play.
