These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and AppMaven Studio (“AppMaven”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the WoodShop Toolkit Android application (the “App”), distributed through Google Play. By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
- WoodShop Toolkit is free to use with ads. Remove Ads and Pro are optional one-time purchases.
- Your projects are stored on your device, so make a backup before changing or resetting your phone.
- Google Play handles payments and refunds.
- The App gives calculations and scaled cutting guides. Always measure and check before you cut — you remain responsible for your material, tools and safety.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to agree to these Terms and to use Google Play, whichever is higher. If you are a minor where you live, use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. The App is not directed to children.
2. Licence to use the App
Subject to these Terms, AppMaven grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control. You may use the App for your own woodworking, including work you do for customers. You may not:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App, except as permitted by mandatory law;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by law;
- rent, lease, sell, sublicense or otherwise distribute the App;
- remove or obscure proprietary notices, including the WoodShop branding on PDFs created with the free version;
- circumvent or interfere with purchase, advertising or security features, including any attempt to unlock paid features without paying;
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Google Play’s terms.
3. No account required
The App does not require an account. Projects, calculations and settings are stored on your device as described in the WoodShop Toolkit Privacy Policy. Because there is no account and no cloud sync, we cannot recover your data if your device is lost, reset or damaged.
4. Your content and backups
You keep all rights to the projects, measurements, prices, notes and files you create. We do not claim ownership of them and cannot access, restore or recover them. The App lets you create backup files and export projects, CSV files and PDFs (Settings → Data). You are responsible for making backups and keeping them safe, especially before uninstalling the App, resetting your device or switching phones. Backup files are not encrypted; store them somewhere you trust. To the extent permitted by law, AppMaven is not liable for loss of locally stored data.
5. Purchases
The App’s calculators and cut-list tools are free to use within the Free limits shown in the App. Two optional one-time purchases (not subscriptions) are offered:

5.1 Billing
All purchases are processed by Google Play, not by AppMaven. Prices are shown in the App and on Google Play in your local currency before you confirm, and may vary by country and over time. You are responsible for taxes or fees charged by the platform or your payment provider. AppMaven never receives your payment card details.
5.2 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play’s refund policy and any mandatory consumer rights in your country, which these Terms do not affect. If a purchase is refunded, the features it unlocked are removed. If you think you were charged in error, contact Google Play support first; you may also email us and we will help where we can.
5.3 Restoring purchases
Purchases are tied to the Google account used to buy them. After reinstalling or changing devices, open the upgrade screen and tap Restore purchases while signed in to the same Google account. We cannot restore purchases made with a different account, and purchases are never restored from a backup file.
5.4 Changes
We may add, change or remove features over time. One-time purchases remain valid for the supported lifetime of the App; they do not entitle you to separate future products.
6. Advertising
The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads that unlock an extra PDF export. Ads are provided by third parties; AppMaven does not control the content of individual ads and is not responsible for products or services advertised by others. Your advertising privacy choices are explained in the Privacy Policy.
7. Calculations, cutting plans and safety
WoodShop Toolkit is a planning aid. Board-foot figures, prices, fraction results, spacing positions, cut lists and cutting diagrams depend on the values you enter and on rounding you choose. Reference lumber sizes vary by supplier. Cutting diagrams are scaled guides, not full-size templates, and the App does not give structural, engineering, building-code or safety advice.
Always measure your actual stock, check the results and follow safe workshop practice and your tool manufacturers’ instructions before cutting. You are responsible for your materials, tools, work and safety. AppMaven is not responsible for wasted material, cost differences or injury resulting from reliance on the App.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to break any law, infringe the rights of others, attempt unauthorised access to the App, our systems or Google’s systems, distribute malware or interfere with the App’s normal operation, including ad or purchase fraud.
9. Intellectual property
The App, including its code, design, interface, the “WoodShop Toolkit” name, logo, illustrations, text and reference data supplied by us, is owned by AppMaven and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a licence; they do not transfer ownership. Open-source components included in the App remain the property of their owners and are used under their licences, listed in the App under Settings → Open-source licenses.
10. Third-party services
The App relies on services provided by Google, including Google Play (distribution, billing and in-app review), Google AdMob and Google’s User Messaging Platform. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. AppMaven is not responsible for third-party services, their availability or changes they make. Printing, sharing and saving files use Android services and apps you choose.
11. Updates and availability
We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and we may stop supporting older Android versions or older versions of the App. We do not guarantee that the App will be available without interruption or free of errors, and we may suspend or discontinue it at any time.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AppMaven will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, materials or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability relating to the App or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) USD 25. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AppMaven from claims, damages, liabilities and reasonable expenses arising from your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms or the law, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms, including by trying to circumvent purchase or security features. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including sections 9, 12, 13, 14 and 17 — continue to apply.
16. Privacy
How information is handled is described in the WoodShop Toolkit Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are not affected.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change, and significant changes may also be noted in the App or on Google Play. Continuing to use the App after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
